Square Connector socket Terminal and Shell Characteristics

Connector mis-mating prevention structure

Contact pressure regulated connector:
The terminal plating is available in two types: gold and tin. The optimal contact pressure can be obtained by adjusting the auxiliary spring gap (each position from A to C). At the same time, gold-plated terminals are also equipped with high contact pressure terminals and standard contact pressure terminals according to the purpose of use.
• The anti-overstress structure refers to the protective structure designed to minimize damage to the main contacts caused by foreign matter or prying.

Plug/socket contact
The plug side adopts a lamellar insert method, and the socket side adopts a supported socket.
(hereinafter referred to as socket) method. Its structure is very resistant to vibrations. (See the picture on the left) The contact method adopts a highly reliable 3-point contact method.

Fixing of connector terminals and housing
The terminal is fixed by hanging from the shell, so the terminal itself is not locked and can be easily inserted into the shell without the risk of falling off. There is a crisp locking sound when the shell is inserted, making it easy to confirm insertion. The terminals can be pulled out using special tools.

Connectors are easy to plug in and out
• The connector is easy to insert and unplug, and has a crisp locking sound when mated.
• To pull out the connector, just grab the two latches on both sides of the housing to unlock it easily.
(D-3100/D-3200/D-4000/D-5200 series)
• For safety reasons, the corners of the housing are fully rounded to prevent insertion and removal.

Connector terminal characteristics

Connector terminal characteristics

Vertical head directionality
Vertical plug heads are marked with orientation (concave) to prevent incorrect installation on the circuit board.

Connector housing protecting terminals
The horizontal plug head adopts full surface coverage to protect the solder terminals.

Connector housing highlights
Strengthen the firmness of circuit boards
• Considering robot automatic placement, both vertical and horizontal plug heads are equipped with reinforced fixing feet.
• Especially for the horizontal version, reinforcement feet are installed at the bottom of the housing. Compared with the current method, the fixation installed near the insertion opening of the socket housing can resist the swing caused by the cable after installation.

Anti-vibration mechanism of connector
• Both the plug and socket housings have multiple rib structures (concave and convex), which are anti-vibration structures, allowing the socket housing to be fully inserted into the plug housing, and there will be no more shaking between the housings.

By using key bits, other products with the same number of digits can be prevented from being mis-inserted. (See P.121 for key plugs, only applicable to D2000 series and P.121, only applicable to D3000 series)

Obvious circuit identification
• Plug and socket housings have circuit markings to facilitate easy crimping of cables.
