What is a rocker switch?

Test method of rocker switch life

Mainly test the number of opening and closing until it is damaged. If you don’t need to manually use a small motor to drive the eccentric opening and closing switch, use a counter to record the number of times! For foreign countries, it depends on which country the specific sales go to: UL in the United States, CUL in Canada, and safety certifications such as VDE, ENEC, and TUV in European countries.

Rocker switch failure problem

Rocker switch, the kind that is very common when the red light is on when it is turned on. Sometimes it can’t be turned off, it just can’t bounce back, and the air switch often fails.
Solution to failure:
The rocker switch has a metal piece inside with a spring fulcrum in the middle. The spring displacement and the aging deformation of the plastic bracket make the switch inflexible. You can take it apart after power off to have a look. If the plastic parts are not damaged, it may be restored. The neutral line inside the switch is straight through and has nothing to do with the switch components. Therefore, if the switch jumps the air switch, the insulation layer of the neutral line passing through the switch is damaged. You can cut off the damaged section and re-wire it, and pay attention to the insulation. It may also be that the pin of the indicator light is short-circuited, just re-wire it.

How to choose rocker switch

1. Whether the certification is complete
   Whether the waterproof ship type switch has complete certification, selects environmentally friendly materials, passes relevant ROHS regulations, and has SGS certification;
   With VDE/DEMKO/KEMA (currently using EU ENEC), UL/CSA and other certifications. Only the Arcolectric waterproof rocker switches are well certified.
   IP waterproof standard
   The sealing performance of the waterproof rocker switch exceeds the standard. When paired with related accessories, it can reach IP65, IP66, IP67 or even IP68 waterproof level.
   3. Design issues
   Whether the design of the waterproof rocker switch is reasonable, long service life, high temperature resistance, high current impact resistance, these should be considered.

Precautions for using the rocker switch

For the specific application of the waterproof ship type switch, it is restricted by many factors, such as: the installation method and the installation direction of the product, the air flow, the pressure difference acting on the product, the strength of the fluid rebound and the working voltage; wait.
